2. Hao Lai Ke

Hao Lai Ke - Flatlay

Hao Lai Ke, the brainchild of a former Din Tai Fung chef, started as a Bedok coffeeshop stall in 2023. Given Din Tai Fung’s fame for its fried rice, the Pork Ribs Fried Rice ($7.80) here is a must-try—see if you can spot any familiar flavours. For something more affordable, opt for the simple Omelette Fried Rice ($5.50) instead, which essentially replaces the pork rib with more egg. Fried rice aside, many regulars return for the nutty and savoury Dan Dan Noodles ($6.50), too.

3. A Hot Hideout

It hasn’t been long since A Hot Hideout joined the mall, but the popular mala chain is already seeing snaking queues. All ingredients are priced at $2.88 per 100g, and the final price is based on the weight of the ingredients in your bowl. If it’s your first time here, here’s a tip: request a scrambled egg, which is wonderfully silky and buttery. Otherwise, opt for deep-fried lotus root and potato slices if you prefer something crispy. FYI, the eatery is open till 1:30am every day, so if you’re looking for a supper spot in the vicinity, you know where to go.

4. Tim Ho Wan

Dim sum chain Tim Ho Wan needs no introduction. As with all their other outlets, make the signature Baked BBQ Pork Buns ($8.50++ for three) the first dish you order—you’ll want to start your meal with its crumbly exterior and juicy barbecue pork interior. From there, you can order other dim sum dishes such as the Pork & Shrimp Dumplings ($7.80++ for four), or opt for one of the rice, congee, or noodle dishes.

Unit number: #01-01/02/03

Blanco Court Beef Noodles serves up excellent traditional Hainanese beef noodles. The Superior Beef Noodles (from $11.90) is the most complete version of the dish here, with an assortment of beef parts—shank, tendons, and tripe—to enjoy with the rich beef broth and springy noodles.

6. Ichiho Donburi & Sushi

At Ichiho, you can expect donburi and sushi crafted with super fresh ingredients. The Premium  Kaisen Sashimi Don ($22++), for instance, lays a fine selection of sashimi slices atop sushi rice. Fans of the dish have raved about how fresh every slice is, and the generous portions make it worth every penny. Non-sashimi options include the Buta Kakuni Don ($19++), a tasty rice dish that highlights thick pork belly slices.

7. My Spice Affair

Of the “nasi” dishes in Singapore, nasi ambeng isn’t as well-known as nasi lemak or nasi padang. That doesn’t mean it is any less delicious, however, so if you haven’t tried it before, you should give it a shot at My Spice Affair. The Solo Ambeng (price TBD) is suitable for one and features a plethora of ingredients such as sambal goreng, egg balado, and cow’s lungs. You can also choose between beef rendang and chicken lemak chilli padi to top off your plate.

8. Pohang Seafood & Butchery

If sashimi is what you’d consider a top-tier combination, then Pohang Seafood & Butchery will certainly satisfy you. We recommend the crowd-favourite Stone Pot Beef Tartare Bibimbap ($25++): an elevated bibimbap made with finely minced raw beef seasoned with soy sauce, sesame oil, garlic and more. The raw beef is melt-in-your-mouth tender, and boasts a sweet-savoury balance. If raw beef scares you, consider the Salmon Sashimi Bibimbap ($22++) or Ginseng Chicken Soup ($28++) instead.

Dishes such as Pulled Pork Sandwich ($18+) and Portobello Mushroom Cheese Burger ($15+) will satisfy your brunch cravings, while pasta lovers can order the classic Kaeden Aglio Olio ($12+) or Roasted Salmon with Mentaiko Cream Pasta ($24+).

Everyone has an opinion on Saizeriya, but few can deny that the casual Italian fare is arguably the cheapest in Singapore. A plate of Aglio Olio Vongole goes for just $5.90, with no GST or service charge. There are plenty of other mains to choose from, including BBQ Pork Rib ($10.90), Cheese Ravioli ($5.90), and even Sirloin Steak ($12.50)
