Changi Airport is known to be a haven for shopping and good eats, and Jewel just got even more happening with the recent arrival of Shan Li You, a restaurant hailing from Yunnan serving authentic dishes cooked by veteran local chefs.

The brand prides itself on using the freshest ingredients and staying true to Yunnan’s ethnic roots through its extensive offerings. The menu spans savoury, spicy, and sweet dishes inspired by the brand’s mountain-to-table concept.
Fans of Shan Li You rave about the Porcini Mushroom, Truffle and Egg Rice (price TBD) as a must-order dish for your visit here. Not only is it packed with a strong and fragrant truffle aroma, but it’s also loaded with fresh porcini mushrooms for an extra bite in each mouthful. Break the golden egg yolk on top for a creamy sauce that coats each grain of rice perfectly!

For something more refreshing, try the Wild Pepper and Wild Fruit Sour Beef Soup (price TBD). Tender cuts of sliced beef marinated with spices give the hearty broth a spicy kick in every sip, while the wild fruit adds a bold, tangy flavour.

Based on reviews online, a crowd-favourite appears to be the Lychee Sweet and Sour Pork (price TBD), featuring a massive passionfruit in the middle of the plate. We’re guessing the lychee acts as a natural sweetener, while the passionfruit adds a tangy kick that gives the dish a more layered flavour.

Pair your meal with their variety of drinks, too. Here, you can create your own pot of tea for just $1.90++ per person with four flavours to choose from: Yunnan Rose Tea, Golden Chrysanthemum Tea, Sticky Rose Green Tea and Rice Pu’er Tea. Do note that there’s a minimum of two people to order, so you’ll have to dine with a buddy to try this out. If tea isn’t up your alley, you can opt for one of their fresh fruit ice-blended drinks instead.
