1. Supa Deck
If you always wanted to try Spud Brother’s viral loaded potatoes, you can get something similar at Supa Deck! Try their Supa Spuds, available in flavours including Beef Chilli ($12), Pulled Beef ($14), Smoked Salmon ($16), Satay Chix ($14), and Cheesy Mac ($10). Aside from spuds, they also have loaded macaroni and cheese, as well as quesadillas.
We went for the most classic option, the Beef Chilli spud. The baked potato was topped with a generous amount of mozzarella cheese and blow-torched, before it was loaded with the saucy and meaty topping. The beef chilli was rich and aromatic, pairing well with the starchiness of the potatoes.

2. Golden Bao
Another viral snack you can get at this bazaar is the Chinese Beef ($10) and Chicken Roti ($9) at Golden Bao. This stall draws extremely long queues from the moment they open, so we recommend heading down extra early to grab these.
Inspired by the KL-famous street snack, you can choose to get these breads packed with either beef or chicken. Being the chilli oil fiends we were, we also topped up an additional $1 for chilli oil to dip our roti in. The soft roti reminded me of a slightly more doughy prata, filled with a decent amount of minced meat and onions.

3. La Birria Tacos
Our favourite stall at the bazaar was La Birria Tacos. For the uninitiated, birria tacos consist of tacos loaded with slow-cooked beef and mozzarella cheese, served with a side of hearty consomme for dipping. This dish involves marinating the meat for long hours and slow-cooking it to achieve an ultra-succulent texture. The rich consomme is then stewed with the meat’s leftover juices.
We recommend getting their Signature Quesa Birria Tacos ($13), which my colleague and I savoured down to the very last bite. The beef was tender and juicy, and when we dipped the tacos in the umami-packed broth, it took the dish to the next level with its flavour. Other popular picks include the unique Sambal Belacan Fish Tacos ($10), Dirty Nachos ($13), and Birria Loaded Nachos ($15).

4. Matcha Klasik
After hours of walking in the hot sun, we treated ourselves to drinks from Matcha Klasik. The beverage stall sells a variety of trendy matcha drinks such as Matcha Mango ($7.50), Matcha Strawberry ($8), and Matcha Earl Grey ($7.50). FYI, they use ceremonial-grade matcha for their drinks, and oat milk as the default milk option.
If you’re in on the recent obsession with matcha strawberry, the rendition here is a must-try. We found it rich, earthy, and creamy all at once, complemented by the tangy strawberry sauce. However, I was especially excited to try the mango version as it was not a common combination. The bitterness of the matcha paired well with the sweetness of the mango syrup, making for a delicious, well-balanced drink.

5. Gohed Gostan By Tarik
We could not leave without visiting the famous cheese wheel pasta, sold by Gohed Gostanik By Tarik. Unless you live under a rock, you’ve probably come across the concept of pasta swirled in wheels of cheese, served at European restaurants. The good news is you can experience a small piece of that right at this bazaar!
Pick from three varieties here: Tandoori Chicken Pasta, Creamy Steak Carbonara, and Seafood Arrabiata, which are priced at $12 each. We watched as the pasta was cooked in a creamy sauce before the chefs slid it from the hot pan straight into a huge wheel of cheese. The ritual gave the dish an extra level of cheesiness and creaminess that was super satisfying.
6. Dubai Kunafa
Of course, no bazaar is complete without kunafa. Dubai Kunafa is just one of the many stalls selling the popular kunafa-inspired desserts at this year’s bazaar.
For those who don’t know, kunafa is a super popular dessert consisting of shredded crunchy pastry and melted cheese, doused in sweet syrups. Dubai Kunafa’s menu sees several flavours of the Turkish-inspired dessert, including Red Velvet, Pistachio, White Chocolate, and Biscoff. Each flavour is priced at $12.

7. Air Balang
Air Balang is another mainstay at the Kampong Gelam Bazaar lineup. Contained in the stall’s mega-sized tanks are fun-coloured drinks, in flavours such as Sweet Corn, Taro Ice Cream, Watermelon Lychee, Solero Ice Cream, and Strawberry Ice Cream. For $6, you get a large portion of whatever drink you choose, which is great for quenching your thirst as you browse through the bazaar.

8. Kream.sg
Loaded hotdogs sandwiched in brioche buns are a bazaar staple, and Kream SG is one of the best places you can get them here. Fans of anything mentaiko will be happy to know they do a great Mentaiko Dog ($8) here. Otherwise, you can’t go wrong with their Flaming Cheese Rendang ($8), a delightful combination of spicy rendang and heaps of cheese.

9. Yodaebak
Sushi bake specialist Yodaebak makes an appearance again for this year’s bazaar. At their stall, you can dig into tasty sushi bakes with Unagi, Spicy Tuna, Salmon Mentai and more. For the uninitiated, you can think of a sushi bake as something like deconstructed sushi, where rice is topped with your meat of choice, seasoned with furikake and drizzled with sauces such as mentaiko, and then baked till the top is golden brown. Each tray is priced at $12 and $15, and is good for sharing.

10. Picanhas
If you want to indulge in good-quality steak without breaking the bank, visit Picanhas. FYI, they were also here at last year’s edition! Customers have previously raved about their People’s Steak & Mash ($18), which seems to give you the best bang for your buck for the portion you get. This plate comes with 100g steak, garlic mashed potatoes, and binchotan butter. Other items you can find on their menu include the Picanhas Sausages ($15) and the Wagyu Rostbiff & Mash ($22). The former comes with chilli con carne and garlic mashed potatoes, while the latter features Wagyu roast beef and garlic mashed potatoes.
