How’s your Ramadan going? It’s only day three in Malaysia, yet the spirit of the holy month is already in full swing. Fellow Muslims are out hunting for the best sahoor and moreh spots, attending Tarawih prayers, and flocking to the top Ramadan Bazaars around — JB included! Here’s a local’s guide to Johor Bahru’s must-visit Ramadan Bazaars.
1. Taman Dahlia

Located in Jalan Persiaran Dahlia, this bazaar is a local favourite for its delicious, affordable eats from honest vendors. Don’t miss classics like goreng-goreng kawah (bulk-fried noodles and rice), assorted satay, cendol, and more.
2. Southern City

Also known as Bazar Ramadan Taman Suria, it’s set near Giant Southern City, just a 12-minute drive from the CIQ. Singaporeans are welcome to sample treats like jumbo sausages, giant squid, ayam percik, grilled seafood, and other delights — just be ready for the traffic jam!
3. Taman Perling

This bustling bazaar near Perling Mall may be getting smaller, but its vibrant atmosphere is here to stay. Enjoy a mix of dim sum, kuih-muih, and fun fried snacks like the widely-favoured potato chips on a stick.
4. Kampung Melayu Majidee

Nestled between rows of shophouses along Jalan Sekolah, Bazar Ramadan Kampung Melayu Majidee is also a must-visit. While the food options are lacking in variety, some have said that the dishes are better than the ones at Taman Suria. Still, taste is subjective, so don’t knock it till you try!
5. Taman Universiti

Located in Skudai, Bazar Ramadan Taman Universiti is a hotspot among locals every year. They have a variety of food options — from local delicacies like laksa lemak and buttermilk chicken, to other Western dishes such as baked pasta and homemade potato chips.
6. Tebing Bandar Dato’ Onn

Tebing Bandar Dato’ Onn is a hub famous for food and beverage festivals such as Urban Market (now discontinued) and the recent Komuniti KITA Fiesta which took place at the end of Feb 2025. For their Ramadan Bazaar, a lot of famous local vendors are joining the party — such as Loco Boys which is known for selling Mexican tacos, and Ayam Gunting Vamos.
