Marrybrown Launches First Drive-Thru Outlet In Collaboration With MESRA At PETRONAS Station Seksyen 15, Shah Alam

SHAH ALAM, 22 January 2026 – Marrybrown, Malaysia’s largest homegrown halal Quick-Service Restaurant (QSR), in collaboration with PETRONAS Dagangan Berhad (PDB)’s convenience arm – Mesra Retail and Café Sdn. Bhd. (MESRA) today launched its latest drive thru at PETRONAS Station, Seksyen 15, Shah Alam as part of its network expansion that is being driven by strong demand and support from Malaysians.

During the opening ceremony, Chief Executive Officer, Daniel Lek Seong Chan, said: “The launch of our first drive thru outlet with Mesra Retail & Cafe signifies something greater than our continued success – it symbolises the bonding of two internationally recognised homegrown brands and proof that great things can come if all Malaysians band together.”

Chan added that Marrybrown’s achievements comes at the back of generous support from the local communities that it operates in. In return, Marrybrown has been able to employ more than 10,000 people, create business opportunities for local vendors and suppliers, and help bolster the local economy—an impetus shared with its latest partner, Mesra Retail & Cafe.

As a key player in PDB’s non-fuel retail segment, Mesra Retail & Cafe is committed to driving Malaysia’s economic progress and recognises the vital role of homegrown micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) in supporting the nation’s development. PDB’s ecosystem also features offerings such as PETRONAS Lubricants Marketing Malaysia (PLMM)’s lubricants at Kedai Mesra, and Setel’s digital payment and rewards platform.

According to the Department of Statistics (DoSM), MSMEs’ contribution to Malaysia’s GDP grew by 5.8 per cent in 2024 and contributes 39.5 per cent to Malaysia economy and employs 4.87 per cent (2024) of Malaysia’s total workforce. The wholesale and retail trade; food and beverages; and accommodation sub-sector grew 5.7 per cent in that same period.

Established in Johor Bahru in 1981, Marrybrown has risen from a single restaurant to one of the world’s largest halal fast-food chains. It is also Malaysia’s unofficial culinary ambassador, introducing Malaysian fare and flavour in its international menu items that are available in Australia, Qatar, Dubai and China.

To commemorate the launch of its drive-thru outlet at PETRONAS Seksyen 15, Shah Alam, Marrybrown treated the first 100 customers to a voucher redeemable for a two-piece Ayam Goreng MB® and a can of Coca-Cola (350ml).
