If you love char chaan teng fare and live in the east, we’ve got good news for you. Keming Bing Sat, the Hong Kong-famous cha chaan teng that had Singaporeans queueing up for up to two hours just to get a seat, is opening its third Singapore location at Tampines 1 this July. Eagle-eyed shoppers have spotted the storefront on Level 2, nestled between Chagee and Sushiro.

The brand already has two outlets here—at Plaza Singapura and Funan Mall—and with 140 outlets worldwide, the credentials speak for themselves.

A quick backstory: the chain first launched in 2019 and has since racked up accolades, including TikTok’s Favourite Restaurant 2021. They’ve also sold a whopping 3.3 million bowls of their bestselling char siew rice in just a year!

The new Tampines 1 outlet carries all the signatures that fans already love, plus a handful of exclusives worth making the trip for. A non-negotiable first order is the Char Siew Rice ($10.90++), dubbed the No. 1 Best-Selling Char Siew Rice in China. Each bowl comes with seven pieces of thick-cut char siew, two sunny-side-up eggs, and two pieces of kai lan over a bed of Wuchang rice.

Another crowd favourite is the Scallion Oil Chicken Chop Rice on Hot Plate ($13.90++), featuring a thick piece of grilled chicken fillet topped with chopped spring onions and doused in scallion oil, served alongside a sunny-side-up egg, rice, and fresh purple lettuce.

New to the Tampines 1 outlet is the Minced Beef Rice with Poached Egg (price TBD). Think moonlight hor fun but in rice form, featuring savoury minced beef topped with a silky poached egg over a bowl of rice. We have a feeling this one’s going to be a crowd favourite once the outlet opens.

If you want something lighter, the Happiness Lava Egg Waffles ($6.90++ for four) are IG-worthy egg-shaped waffles with a savoury cheese filling, making them a good snack between mains.

On the drinks front, the Little Bear Iced Lemon Tea ($4.90++) is the viral order here, starring fragrant Ceylon black tea brewed and pulled repeatedly for a more intense aroma. Milk tea fans should go straight for the Little Bear Iced Hong Kong Milk Tea ($4.90++), where the tea arrives with an adorable bear-shaped ice cube.

Tampines 1 also introduces two exclusive drinks: the Keming Signature Craft Fruit Tea (price TBD) and HK Milk Tea Happiness Trio (price TBD), both new additions that give regulars a reason to revisit even if they’ve already been to the other outlets.
