1. SOHTT

Another recurring festival favourite is SOHTT, known for their innovative creations. Their Sushi Tacos have always been a big draw, with a crispy seaweed shell topped with your choice of Mentaiko Crab ($10), Lobster Salad ($10) and more. The popular Mochi Croffles also stand out with their chewy mochi core; get them in Lotus Biscoff, Christmas Matcha, Ovomaltine and more for $13 for a box of three.

2. Doner Daddy

The sandwich version of doner kebab was popularised in West Berlin in the 1970s, and you can get them here at Doner Daddy. Their large Doner comes at $15 a la carte, and you can pair it with a drink from $20. Those with a sweet tooth should go for the Kunefe ($12), made in a cookie style with pistachio, Biscoff, and Nutella. They also have German Christmas market favourites, such as the Mulled Wine ($15), Frozen Margaritas ($15), and Frites (from $9)

3. Gyushi

Gyushi may be a familiar face at food carnivals, but we’re always impressed by their Wagyu beef bowls. The Original Wagyu Bowl ($15+) is ever-reliable, with its torched Wagyu beef slices atop a bed of rice, served with a jiggly onsen egg. If you’d like it a little more decadent, get the Truffle Wagyu Bowl ($18++) or Spicy Mentaiko Bowl ($16++) variants that add a creamier touch. They also have fresh Sugarcane Juice (from $5) that’s perfect for beating the carnival heat.

4. Sofnade

Sofnade has a variety of carnival bites, such as their Flame Torched Steak Bites and Mash ($16) and Beef/Chicken Meatballs in a Bucket ($15). However, we were more impressed with their lineup of Xmas Drinks ($10), each being rather sizeable. The Rudolph’s Ruby Fizz, with its cranberry and pomegranate fizz, and Ho Ho Colada featuring a creamy pineapple and coconut milk concoction are both refreshing options. Get the cosy Butter Beer for a festive treat with butterscotch caramel notes.

5. Papi’s Tacos

Fans of Mexican fare will surely know of Papi’s Tacos, a highly rated Mexican restaurant in Singapore. It’d be remiss of you to leave without getting their Mentaiko Prawn Tacos ($16+), featuring palm-sized tacos loaded with a crispy, fresh shrimp and creamy mentaiko sauce. Pair this with the crowd-favourite Papi’s Signature Nachos ($12+), which gives you a generous base of corn tortilla chips topped with creamy and flavour-packed guacamole.

The God Spud is an initiative by BTHL, which brings trendy carnival favourites to night markets, corporate parties, and food fairs. This time, they’re serving up loaded baked potatoes, in the forms of Signature Chicken Bolognese ($15), Signature Minced Beef ($15), Truffle Mushroom ($15), and Creamy Spicy Tuna ($13). You can also get the Twist Potato ($8), a familiar pasar malam delight.

7. Kwazy Corndogs

Kwazy Corndogs is back, this time with nine flavours of the Korean street snack. You can’t go wrong with the Classic Corndog ($7), Sausage Corndog ($7), or the Cheesy Corndog ($8). If you’re looking to turn up the heat, try their Buldak Ramen Corndog ($9), which is packed with spicy Samyang Buldak noodles. We also enjoyed their sweet condogs, but this time they only have the Nutella Corndog ($9) in this category, which stands out with its combination of Nutella and mozzarella cheese.

Kwazy Corndogs is a Muslim-friendly eatery.

8. NOSH

NOSH started as a food truck in Marina Bay Sands, and has since opened their own bistro in Sembawang. They’re known for their authentic British Signature Fish & Chips ($21.90), each having a crispy, golden-brown battered exterior. For lighter bites, go for the Fish Goujons with Fries ($16.90 for six pieces), which are reminiscent of fish nuggets that are similarly battered to a delightful crisp.

9. Ahoy!

If you’re further down at the Coca Cola Village, you can also get satisfying seafood bites at Ahoy, which are all freshly fried to order. The Fish ‘N’ Chips ($15) come with a thick layer of batter, and go so well with the accompanying lemon and tartar sauce. For sharing, you’ll want to get the Seafood Platter ($22), a deep-fried medley that includes shrimp, squid, scallops, fish nuggets, and fries.

Ahoy is a Muslim-friendly eatery.

10. Mexi-Go

If a Mexican Christmas is up your alley, check out Mexi-Go. Fill up with the Mex-Mas Quesadilla ($16) or the El Taco Claus ($16), which comes with two large tacos. If snacks are more your thing, you can get their Nachos Libre ($15), on which lime is squeezed for a refreshing tang, or the Mexican Flame-Grilled Corn ($8.50) that you can get in BBQ Cheese and Mild Spicy variants.

Mexi-Go is owned by Sofnade, which is a halal-certified brand.
