Burgers are everywhere and served in different ways. However, there are a lot of famous international burger brands like Five Guys, Shake Shack, and Burger & Lobster. Singapore also has its homegrown burger shops that they can be proud of.
According to Statista, Singaporean people eat burgers one to three times per week, with almost 45% of the population. However, some people in Singapore eat more than three times a week and even up to ten burgers weekly.
Every country has its own homegrown or local burger stands, each with its twist. Here’s the list of homegrown burger shops to try in Singapore.

Burgs is a fast-casual Halal-certified burger concept located at 313@somerset, Level 5 Food Republic.
Does it sound familiar? They are being rebranded to Burgs from “Burgs by Project Warung.” Burgs is a popular homegrown burger shop in Singapore, and it’s undeniable because they have multiple locations.
The shop was founded and opened by Indra and Ridzuan when they found an opportunity to start a business offering local-style gourmet burgers at a reasonable price. Indra and Ridzuan previously worked in Michelin-star restaurants before they opened their business.

The husband-and-wife passion launched this other homegrown burger shop in Singapore for cooking for others.
What’s unique about this shop is they used premium grass-fed New Zealand beef on their OFC burger. You would enjoy the soft bun with a garnish of mixed charred onions, tomatoes, and pickles (house-made). Another point of this burger shop is their made in-house potato bun, proofed and baked fresh.

3. OOTB (Out of the Bun)

Facebook: OutoftheBun
This homegrown shop serves beef, pulled chicken, and vegetarian burgers with hand-crafted soft buns.
The first shop opened is only an 8-10 minutes walk from Dhoby Ghaut MRT Station.
Do you know how OOTB started?
This story is from the owner itself with their twist-of-fate origin.
He started smoking meats for friends shortly after leaving blockchain logistic sales at the beginning of 2020.
There were extra meat scraps due to how the restaurant served ribs, and he didn’t want it to go to waste. As a result, he began making pulled meat burgers, which quickly surpassed orders for smoked meats.
This Singapore burger joint has a mix of electric neon lights and industrial interiors, including metal barrels and cute chairs, which you can open and place your bag into.
“SKINNY PEOPLE ARE EASIER TO KIDNAP. STAY SAFE, EAT BURGERS. “ The neon lights make for a good #OOTD spot.

4. NBCB Nothing But Cheese Burger
Website: https://nbcb.com.sg
Instagram: @nbcbsg
Facebook: NBCB Singapore
The name NBCB is an acronym for “Nothing But Cheese Burger” and is also short for an uncouth-sounding Hokkein swear world.
The owners began as a home-based business and expanded into a full-fledged shop, replacing Omakase Burger.
Their signature NBCB Cheeseburger is layered
in a toasted bun with a flame-grilled patty, lettuce, tomatoes, and a slice of cheddar.
The burger patty retained the natural flavors of the beef with a smoky experience.

📍 Orchard Central, 181 Orchard Rd, #04-23, Singapore 238896

5. (working title) Burger Bar

The last on the list of homegrown burger joints in Singapore is (working title) Burger Bar.
I added this burger shop to the list because it’s not your typical burger shop or restaurant.
The Melbourne cafe scene inspired the interior with a choice of electric decor and upcycled furnishing. They serve brunch, proper burgers, and specialty coffee as one of the Singapore cafe-hopping.
They serve a freshly ground beef patty sandwich on a golden brioche bun with colby jack, topped with garlic aioli and caramelized onion.

Have you tried these homegrown burger shops in Singapore? If not, why not try it now and support the business that is born and available only in Singapore? Or looking for a instagrammable cafe in Singapore?
