We’re already halfway through July, and it’s probably one of the most tiring months in Malaysia. With no public holidays to break the rhythm and the heat hanging thick in the air, everything feels like a bit of a slog.

But here’s a sweet little reprieve — durian season is in full swing, and Royal Durian at MSK Trading in Skudai, Johor Bahru is serving it up the best way possible with an all-you-can-eat durian buffet.

If you’ve been watching everyone on social media digging into creamy durians left and right but can’t be bothered with researching trustworthy stalls or making the drive, this might just be your low-effort, high-reward solution.

For only RM88 (~S$27) per adult, and RM39 (~S$12) for children under 10, you can enjoy more than 10 types of durian in an air-conditioned dining area from 3pm to 11pm.

The buffet runs on a cycle system, where you’ll begin with durians like Perak King and D2 before moving on to other types. It’s a clever way to make sure you get a full spectrum of flavours without filling up too fast on one variety. Once you’ve completed a full cycle, you’re welcome to start over.

While availability may vary depending on the harvest, you can expect to find popular favourites like Udang Merah and Horlor served daily, along with other types such as D13, D14, IOI, Capri, Kacang Hijau, Isi Merah, Ang Bak, Lobster, and Kung Po.

There’s no kampung durian served here — only cultivated varieties make the cut. And for those feeling fancy, premium Musang King variants (like Pokok Tua) are available for an additional RM30 (~S$9) per person.

Each session lasts an hour, with a minimum of 2 people per booking. Do keep in mind that any unfinished durians will be weighed and charged at the normal takeaway rate to help minimise waste.
