Located by the roadside opposite Chung Ling High School, this stall in Air Itam serves one of the crispiest pisang goreng you can find in Penang! Let us spill the tea – the secret to their addictively satisfying pisang goreng is their batter, which is sprinkled with sesame seeds. Using thinly sliced ripe bananas, it’s like you’re munching on super crispy banana chips!

2. Weld Quay Fried Snacks
Nestled along Weld Quay, this popular family-run stall has been offering assorted fried snacks for over 2 decades! Weld Quay Fried Snacks offer a wide range of fried snacks like Fried Banana and Fried Tee Kuih. The reason behind these extra crunchy snacks is that they are individually dipped twice in homemade batter and double-fried. From a distance away, you can already spot a snaking queue of hungry foodies looking for a crispy bite!

3. Hin Carry Cape Flowers
This famous stall in Tanjung Bungah have been offering delicious fried fritters for more than 50+ years! It was previously run by a couple, but eventually their children took over and are running the stall now. This place is known to constantly sell out of their signature pisang goreng, whereby they dip the entire banana into their homemade batter and fried till golden-brown perfection! So if you missed out on their fried bananas, Fried Tee Kuih is also pretty popular among returning patrons too~

4. Fried Banana @ Masjid Jamek Seberang Jaya

The family has been running this roadside fried fritters stall for 17 years. You can get some delicious pisang goreng here, and if it’s the cempedak season, be sure to drop by as you’ll come across freshly fried cempedak fritters too~

5. Free School Road Fried Banana
Having been around for over 40 years, this roadside stall is well-known among local Penangites not for their fried bananas, but for their signature Fried Tee Kueh instead! They often run short on goreng pisang as it is hard to find the right banana (pisang raja) to make them. Hence, Tee Kuih is most popular here and they also have delicious Fried Mung Bean too!

7. Uncle fried banana @ minden heights, gelugor
If you’re planning to grab some Tee Kuih and Goreng Pisang in the early morning, then you’re in luck! This humble goreng pisang stall starts as early as 7.30am, so you can drop by before work or school to get some of your cravings fixed. Uncle even mentioned that they have been selling crispy fried snacks for 38 years now!

8. Khim Cake
Khim Kuih located right outside of Lye Lye Kopitiam, Air Itam is a Kochabi fried fritters stall since 1993 that specializes in fried radish cake or ‘Cai Tao Kuih’! Aside from that, you can also find an array of snacks like Fried Durian, Pisang Goreng, Popiah, Yam Cake and more. They have also started another branch in Hutton lane with a variety of main meals and desserts too, it’s definitely a more comfortable option if you’re looking to enjoy fried snacks on the spot~
