Paya Lebar Quarter food

The East never disappoints when it comes to food and drink options, and Paya Lebar Quarter, or PLQ in short, serves it up in spades. Conveniently connected to Paya Lebar MRT Station, with multiple buildings making up this mall, you’re literally spoiled for choice if you’re looking for some nosh.

1. Tanglin Cookhouse

5 PLQ Places To Eat & Drink At, With Wagyu Ribs, Chilli Crab Pasta & More

For locally inspired British fare, look no further than Tanglin Cookhouse. This marks their second location, bringing their contemporary British-Colonial dishes to folk in the East.

Start with their signature Tanglin Scotch Egg ($19++), a classic British dish which sees a whole, jammy egg wrapped in sausage meat, rolled in breadcrumbs, and deep-fried.

plq tanglin cookhouse - beef wellington

Have it with a Beef Wellington ($42++), done Gordon Ramsay-style with a mushroom duxelle and parma ham layer.

Slice it open for that picture-perfect pink centre, and pair it with the moreish onion gravy for an extra scrummy bite.

plq tanglin cookhouse - chilli crab spaghetti

If you’re looking for something more Singaporean, you can’t go wrong with Singapore Chilli Crab Pasta ($34++), where linguine is tossed through with egg-laden sweet-spicy chilli crab sauce.

Since it landed on Singapore shores in 2024, Indonesian coffee brand TOMORO COFFEE has rapidly grown to its current 10 stores, including one at PLQ 3. Brewed with 100% Arabica beans, and at an average of $6.50 across the menu, it’s no wonder that they’re well-loved by most.

If it’s your first time here, go for their signature TOMORO Aren Latte (from $6.20), an iced milk coffee that’s lent a touch of toasty sweetness with an Indonesian palm sugar known as aren sugar.

Matcha lovers, look no further than their Low Fat Strawberry Matcha (from $7.20), where strawberry compote serves as a base to this hype drink. Of course, you can also opt for full-fat milk in your drink, which is prepared with first flush ceremonial grade matcha.

For something that’s less caffeinated, check out TOMORO’s Hojicha Oat Latte (from $7.20), where nutty roasted green tea makes for a splendid pairing with the cereal notes of oat milk.

4. PURA BRASA

New to the PLQ ‘hood is PURA BRASA, an erstwhile CBD fav. You know it’s legit when the brand was founded in none other than Barcelona, Spain, with seven restaurants in their native country, all specialising in traditional Spanish tapas and grill items.

Now you won’t have to travel all the way to Tanjong Pagar to enjoy some Spanish nosh, with this second outlet right here in PLQ. For something quintessentially Spanish, their Seafood Paella ($39++/$61++) is a fail-proof option, cooked in seafood stock over a Josper charcoal grill for a smoke-kissed finish.

Fun fact: the brand was founded by Josper, a super high-performance wood charcoal oven manufacturer that you’ll find most chefs using. So you can’t go wrong with PURA BRASA’s Pork Ribs ($34++/$58++), slathered in a house-made glaze, and absolutely fall-off-the-bone delicious.

plq pura brasa - op wagyu rib

If you’re looking to indulge, treat yourself to the Australian Wagyu OP Ribs ($188++). Boasting an impressive marbling score of six to seven, this thick, bone-in cut is prepared in the tradition of a classic Basque chuletón.

Grilled over live embers in a specialized Josper charcoal oven, the premium Wagyu locks in its rich, buttery juices while absorbing a deep, smoke-kissed aroma. The melt-in-your-mouth masterpiece is served alongside classic confit piquillo peppers and Mediterranean-spiced fried potatoes.

You can’t visit Wine Connection Bistro without trying their most popular dishes, such as Duck Confit ($32++) and Chicken Caesar Salad ($20++). Otherwise, the Vongole ($20++) is also a hit, with cherry tomato confit and plump clams.

On the protein front, a 250g cut of Black Angus Ribeye ($38++) sees 180-day grain-fed beef seared to your choice of doneness. You get to pick your sauce of choice on the side too!

P.S. You’re not limited to ordering wine by the bottles here. Look out for their wines by the glass from $9++, which allows you to sample more than one bevvy.
