1. Blue Box Cafe

This is easily one of the most anticipated openings of the year. Tiffany & Co. Blue Box Cafe will officially open in mid-July 2026 at ION Orchard, marking the luxury jewellery brand’s first-ever cafe concept in Singapore.

The biggest draw is the menu collaboration with Julien Royer, chef-owner of three-Michelin-starred Odette, known for his refined French cuisine. Expect an elevated all-day dining menu inspired by the brand’s New York flagship, reimagined with a local luxury touch—think polished brunch plates, elegant mains, and desserts plated in Tiffany’s signature blue-and-white aesthetic. The space itself promises to be just as much of a draw, designed as an immersive extension of the brand with Tiffany Blue interiors and a minimalist, elegant dining environment. Fans are also hoping the brand’s iconic Blue Box Afternoon Tea will make it to the Singapore outlet, though full menu details have yet to be released.

2. Madeleine’s Original Portuguese Egg Tarts

After nearly two years away from Singapore’s F&B scene, Madeleine’s Original Portuguese Egg Tarts is finally back—this time as a cafe at Aperia Mall, with a refreshed concept inspired by Macau’s cha chaan teng culture.

The brand first earned a cult following in Tanjong Katong back in 1998, before the original shop eventually closed when the building was sold off. Now revived by 22-year-old Zac, a SHATEC graduate, and his sister Vernice—with guidance from the brand’s founder—the signature egg tarts remain front and centre, alongside a new lineup of hearty mains built for a sit-down cafe setting. Standouts include the Minchee Rice ($10.90), a Macanese classic reworked with beef and pork ragu, potato confit, and a silky 63°C onsen egg over jasmine rice, and the Beef Stew with Capellini ($9.90), which swaps out the usual egg noodles for springy, al dente capellini tossed in scallion oil.

3. FreakyNoods

Good pasta doesn’t always have to come with a hefty price tag. If you love pasta but don’t want to break the bank, here’s one to check out. FreakyNoods, a new concept by popular ice cream cafe FreakyCones in Chinatown, has soft-launched on 1 July 2026. The brand currently offers four cheekily named Japanese-inspired pasta dishes: Duck Buddy ($16.90+), Prawn Hub ($16.90+), White Chicks ($15.90+), and Beef Daddy ($15.90+).

The mains are currently available daily from 12pm to 6pm. We tried and loved the Duck Buddy, the cafe’s riff on the popular rose pasta. It features a generous mound of al dente linguine coated in a creamy, piquant gochujang cream sauce, crowned with slices of roast duck. The whole shebang is finished with crushed seaweed and roasted sesame seeds, adding a nutty, fragrant finish. Another standout is the Beef Daddy, a hearty beef bolognese-style pasta. Here, the same pasta is tossed in a rich, umami-packed beef sauce elevated with garlic confit butter. For those who are curious, Prawn Hub features aglio olio topped with whole prawns, while White Chicks is a creamy chicken alfredo dish.

4. Torikizoku

If you’ve ever wandered the streets of Japan at night, you’ll likely recognise Torikizoku‘s vibrant yellow signboards. The famous yakitori chain, founded in 1985 and now boasting more than 700 outlets globally, has opened its first Singapore outlet at VivoCity—and you no longer need to fly 5,350km for the experience.

torikizoku-flatlay

True to its Japanese roots, Torikizoku keeps its uniform pricing policy intact: every skewer, side, and rice bowl on the menu is a flat $3.90++, barring alcoholic drinks. The Singapore outlet trades Japan’s cramped, cosy izakaya feel for a more spacious layout, with both indoor and outdoor seating overlooking the Harbourfront boardwalk. Must-tries include the Signature Kizokuyaki skewers, available in breast or thigh, with Rock Salt, Sauce, or Spice seasoning.

Established in 1988, Thanying Restaurant has long been one of Singapore’s go-to spots for authentic royal Thai cuisine. Its recipes are inspired by dishes once served in Bangkok’s royal palaces, known for their refined flavours and elegant presentation that showcase Thai culinary heritage. Diners can expect a curated selection of dishes on the restaurant’s newly refreshed menu, from light appetisers and fragrant curries to hearty mains.

During our visit, some standout appetisers included the Yam Som Oh ($20++), a refreshing pomelo salad with chicken, prawns, roasted coconut, chilli paste, and lime dressing. We also enjoyed the Peek Gai Sod Sai ($26++), a classic Thai snack featuring boneless chicken wings stuffed with minced chicken and Thai herbs. For mains, the Gaeng Ped Yarng ($20++), AKA spicy red curry with roast duck, paired excellently with the Khao Ohb Nam-Liaeb ($18++): black olive rice with minced chicken. To end on a sweet note, the Creme Brulee Mapraow ($18++)—coconut crème brûlée served in a coconut husk—made for a satisfying finish to the meal.

Jewel Changi Airport has plenty of food options, but few of them are particularly easy on the wallet—which is why the reopening of Food Republic in the mall’s basement is such good news. After almost three months of renovation, the food court reopens on 3 July 2026 with 14 new stalls offering a mix of affordable eats.

Inspired by 1970s street food culture, the revamped space brings together 10 new heritage stalls and four Michelin Bib Gourmand brands. Among the standouts is Na Na Homemade Curry Peranakan Cuisine, a 10-time consecutive Michelin Bib Gourmand recipient known for its Fish Head Curry, starring tender fish head, tofu puffs, okra, and eggplant in a lemak, spicy-tangy broth. Noodle lovers should head to LiXin Teochew Fishball Noodles for their award-winning bowls, while Hong Kong-famous Ai Shan Claypot Express makes its Singapore debut here with claypot rice topped with traditional ingredients and that all-important layer of crispy, smoky rice.

Sio Pasta, the casual offshoot of Chef Shusaku Toba’s Michelin Guide-recognised sio brand from Tokyo, is bringing one of Japan’s most talked-about pasta trends to Singapore—soup pasta. Already drawing long daily queues at its Raffles City outlet since opening, the brand has just introduced three Singapore-exclusive soup pasta creations, each handcrafted fresh in-store using 100% Italian semolina flour.

First up is the Yuzu Pepper Chicken Cream Soup Pasta ($18.80++), which pairs a velvety chicken cream broth with the bright citrus notes and gentle heat of yuzu kosho, topped with tender chicken infused with the same seasoning for a delicate balance of richness and freshness. Next, the Garlic Soy Sauce & Bacon Soup Peperoncino Pasta ($16.80++) puts a Japanese spin on the classic aglio olio, layering a soy sauce-pickled garlic broth with smoky, crispy bacon and fragrant garlic chips for a deeply umami bowl. Rounding out the trio is the Japanese Seafood Tomato Soup Pasta ($18.80++), which combines a medley of seafood with a vibrant tomato broth made using tomato juice from Japan.

Korean BBQ fans now have another reason to head to HarbourFront. Kott-Don 360, the brand behind the popular Flower Pig 360 in Tanjong Pagar, has opened its second outlet at VivoCity, bringing premium wet-aged meats and exclusive Hanwoo beef dishes to the mall scene. The restaurant has an iconic cave-inspired entrance—inside, the space draws on traditional Korean Hanok architecture, complete with wooden fixtures and soft ambient lighting.

The star item is the Egg Tart ($4), which swaps the usual shortcrust for a croissant-style, flaky, buttery shell around a silky, eggy custard.
