Less than a year after making a comeback under a new name, the team behind popular halal bakery Fluff Bakery is saying goodbye once again.
Big Mouth Bakehouse, which opened at Wisma Geylang Serai in January, has closed its doors for good.
In an Instagram post on Thursday (Oct 8), the bakery said the decision to shutter the business was “incredibly difficult”.
“This is not how we had hoped this chapter would end,” it wrote, “sometimes, despite your best efforts, things happen that are simply beyond your control.”

Unlike the previous closure, it appears that the bakery won’t be making a return.
“This time, there isn’t another door to open,” Big Mouth Bakehouse said.
Looking back on its 13-year journey, the bakery thanked customers for their support — from buying their bakes to sharing encouraging messages and sticking with them through changes and challenges.
“From the bottom of our hearts, thank you,” the bakery said, adding that it will fufill all existing orders.
Big Mouth Bakehouse is a halal-certified, Muslim-owned bakery serving artisanal bakes including cakes, bomboloni and shio pan.

It was opened by husband and wife duo Ashraf Alami and Nursyazanna Syaira, owners of the Fluff Bakery, which was best known for its cupcakes.
Last September, Fluff bakery closed after 12 years due to financial difficulties.
In February, the couple was still paying off a six-figure debt accrued from Fluff Bakery, The Straits Times reported.
