The Bukit Chagar station for the Johor Bahru-Singapore Rapid Transit System (RTS) Link appears ready to welcome passengers, with new photos showing completed facilities inside the station.

RTS Link shared the photos on Instagram on Monday (Oct 5), showcasing parts of the Bukit Chagar Immigration, Customs and Quarantine (ICQ) Complex in Johor Bahru.

“Doesn’t this look ready? Because we are,” RTS Link said in the post, adding that the station is ready to welcome passengers travelling between JB and Singapore.

The photos showed several passenger facilities in place, including fare gates, security screening areas and escalators.

The ticketing area also appeared to be ready, with a ticketing and information counter shown in the photos.

“The spaces are ready. The station is ready. And we’re ready for you,” RTS Link said.

Netizens look forward to RTS Link

The photos drew excitement from netizens, with some saying they could not wait to use the new rail link for faster trips between JB and Singapore.

One commenter described the station as “worth the wait”, while another said they were looking forward to being able to get to Singapore “in an instant”.

But some expressed frustration over the delays, attributing them to what they described as “bureaucratic regulations and red tape”.

The RTS Link will connect Bukit Chagar in JB with Woodlands North in Singapore, providing a direct cross-border rail connection between the two cities.

Once operational, passengers will be able to clear immigration and customs at the respective stations before boarding the train, with the service expected to ease congestion at existing land checkpoints.

The project has faced delays, with its opening now expected in February 2027.
