It’s a sad day for fans of One Prawn & Co.
The seafood restaurant announced its impending closure in an Instagram post on Tuesday (Sept 1), stating that its last day will be on Oct 4, and thanked those who have supported them.
“After much consideration, we’ve decided that this is the right moment to bring this chapter to a close, as the group continues to evolve,” it wrote, adding that the decision “was not an easy” one, describing One Prawn & Co as an “important part” of its journey over the years.
First started by founder Gwyneth Ang, the brand’s story began in 2019 at Golden Mile Food Centre as a humble hawker stall selling Penang prawn noodles, named One Prawn Noodle.

Prior to starting her own business, Gwyneth had worked at Australian barbeque specialists Burnt Ends, as well as retro arcade bar Level Up as head chef.
In 2022, the brand expanded to an eatery at Macpherson Road and changed its name to One Prawn & Co, before it was rebranded to Zhup Zhup in 2024, where it continued to focus on prawn noodles.
As of 2026, Zhup Zhup has held the Michelin Bib Gourmand accolade for five consecutive years from the first time it received the award when it was named One Prawn & Co in 2022.
In 2024, One Prawn & Co opened at New Bahru as an all-new restaurant concept serving wood-fire grilled seafood.

Popular items on the menu include the Burrata and Smoky Beans ($26) with haricort verts, cackled chilli and white bait, Spicy Octopus ($28) prepared with assam pedas and lotus root chips, as well as Not Your Mom’s Carrot Cake ($25) with poached prawns and XO scramble.
Also on the menu is the Prawn Bisque Ramen ($30), a prawn noodle-inspired dish with a French twist.
The closure announcement was met with disappointment by fans, with some taking to the comments section to share their memories and goodbyes.
“This has hands down been the best fine dining spot in Singapore. You can taste the heart poured into each dish with every bite,” wrote a diner, adding that Gwyneth had taken the time to customise the menu for her birthday celebration when she had dietary restrictions at the time.
“Y’all will be missed.”
Another said: “We haven’t even gotten around to posting our food photos from One Prawn & Co from our first visit this year but still have dreams of the carrot cake. We’ll definitely be back before October. Hoping this is not a forever goodbye!”
Upon the outlet’s closure, Zhup Zhup will be the brand’s only remaining F&B establishment.
