The Immigration and Checkpoints Authority said in a follow-up post at 12.30pm that heavy departure traffic at Woodlands Checkpoint has subsided.
Checks by AsiaOne on the Land Transport Authority’s traffic cameras at 1.15pm show smooth traffic at the Causeway, Woodlands Crossing and Woodlands Flyover.
There is currently heavy departure traffic at Woodlands Checkpoint.
The Immigration and Checkpoints Authority (ICA) said in a social media post at Friday (Sept 18) 10.35am that the traffic situation is due to tailback from Malaysia.
Checks on the Land Transport Authority’s (LTA) traffic cameras show heavy traffic along the Causeway, but traffic along Woodlands Crossing and Woodlands Flyover appears to be smooth.
In its post, ICA also advised travellers to expect delays and check traffic conditions before embarking on their journey.
Motorists are reminded to cooperate with ICA officers, observe lane discipline and follow traffic rules.
During the September school holidays, 27 motorists were caught for various traffic offences at Woodlands Checkpoint.
These offences include queue cutting and displaying other dangerous road behaviour.
A total of 16 motorists were referred to the Traffic Police for further action.
