Been craving for a slice of Japan — or more specifically, a taste of its famous nama (fresh) doughnuts from I’m Donut?

Soon, you won’t have to travel far to get your fix as the cult favourite doughnut chain has just confirmed its Singapore debut.

I’m Donut? will officially open at the basement of Ion Orchard this December, the popular bakery announced on Monday (Oct 19).

The news comes after the brand first teased its arrival in Singapore with a picture of its hoarding on Instagram last month, sparking excitement among local fans.

Founded by Japanese chef Ryouta Hirako in 2022, the bakery is known for its signature nama doughnuts, famous for having a “melt-in-your-mouth” texture.

It currently has 15 stores in its home country of Japan, as well as several overseas outlets including ones in New York City, Taipei and Seoul.

The brand also began its expansion into Southeast Asia recently — opening its first store in the region at The Exchange TRX in Kuala Lumpur in September.

Another outlet is slated to open in Jakarta this month, in addition to its Singapore debut at the end of the year.

According to the bakery, its doughnuts are fully handmade, with everything from the dough to the creams and toppings prepared freshly in-house.

Its offerings include a variety of flavours, including Original, Custard and Matcha, as well as seasonal flavours, alongside exclusive creations developed for different locations.

For example, its Kuala Lumpur outlet, which opened recently, carries 16 Malaysia-exclusive flavours, including Milo, Cham, Pandan and Coconut.

Meanwhile, it’s New York City branch introduced exclusive selections such as PB&J, Sake Cream and Pumpkin Cheesecake.

A seasonal flavour available only at its Omotesando store in Tokyo is the Chestnut and Red Bean Milk Tea Cream Donut.
