After some renovation work, Tampines 1’s basement has reopened with a slew of exciting kiosks, including the famous Mister Donut! The popular Japanese chain is most famous for their Pon De Ring ($2.30) doughnut, made with tapioca flour for a mochi-like texture. Get these in flavours such as Chocolate ($2.50) and Strawberry ($2.50). Alternatively, get their Chocolate Fashion ($2.50), starring a cookie-like doughnut with chocolate glaze on one end.

2. Keming Bing Sat
The Hong Kong-famous cha chaan teng that had Singaporeans queuing up for up to two hours has finally opened in the east. Keming Bing Sat has just opened at Level 2 of Tampines 1, nestled between Chagee and Sushiro. A must-order here is the Char Siew Rice ($10.90++), featuring seven pieces of thick-cut char siew, two sunny-side-up eggs, and kai lan over Wuchang rice.
Look forward to outlet exclusives too, including the Minced Beef Rice with Poached Egg (price TBD) and Little Bear Iced HK Milk Tea ($4.90++) with its adorable bear-shaped ice cube.

Cult favourite coffee chain Luckin Coffee has an outlet in Tampines 1, so you can grab a caffeinated pick-me-up while you’re here. If you’re new to Luckin, download their app and get your first coffee at just $0.99! Otherwise, the brand frequently rolls out discount vouchers for regular app members too. A must-try is their Coconut Latte ($8), where creamy and velvety coconut milk is paired with strong espresso. Otherwise, purists can go for the Hambella Americano ($7) from Luckin Coffee’s premium Single Origin Espresso (SOE) series.

Homegrown bakery fieldnotes has also recently opened a takeaway-only shop in Basement 1 of the mall. They’re popular for their range of cakes and tarts, specifically the Honey Yuzu Slice ($9.27) and Mango Yuzu Slice ($9.27), both light enough for breakfast or tea break. There’s also the Strawberry Yuzu Tart ($9.70), which comprises a sweet and buttery tart base with vanilla chiffon, strawberry cream, and tangy yuzu curd, finished with fresh strawberries.

5. Wanpo Tea Shop
Bubble tea fans, take note: Wanpo Tea Shop, a popular bubble tea shop from Taiwan, has set up shop in Tampines 1. A best-seller is the Custard Boba Milk Tea ($5.90), where milk tea is combined with smooth custard cream and pearls for a pleasant mix of textures. For fresh and affordable udon in the East, look no further than Haruyama Udon, tucked away in the basement of Tampines 1. They offer the TikTok-viral Tenzaru ($16++), where cold Himokawa udon sheets come with two dipping sauces and a side of tempura. We preferred the Spicy Basil Chicken ($16++) instead, which came with springy Hoto udon and minced chicken spiked with Thai basil, topped with an onsen egg. Known for its halal-certified Japanese curry rice, Monster Planet has just opened a new outlet at Tampines 1 that doubles as a casual cafe. Plus, there’s a whole new Monster Crepes Lab concept to go with it. Crepes are made fresh to order and come in a range of flavours, from the Oreo Crunch Crepe ($10.90++) loaded with Oreo cream and vanilla ice cream, to the Matcha Mochi Red Bean Crepe ($12.90++) filled with matcha cream, mochi, and red bean. Fruit lovers can go for the Strawberry Sundae Crepe ($12.90++), topped with fresh strawberries, whipped cream, and crushed pistachio. New in: Hawkers’ Street has opened at Tampines 1! The sprawling food court is home to famous hawker names, including Michelin Bib Gourmand stall Tai Wah Pork Noodle, which sells popular Pork Noodle (from $5) AKA bak chor mee. There’s also Koung’s Wan Tan Mee, offering their Dry Wanton Mee ($5.90): springy egg noodles tossed in a chilli sauce and lard mix, topped with char siew. Chicken rice fans can also visit Michelin-approved Tiong Bahru Hainanese Boneless Chicken Rice for their Duo Chicken Rice Set ($8.50), which comprises fragrant chicken rice, white and roasted chicken, and bok choy.
