Nestled within a cluster of HDB flats along Tengah Garden Walk, Tea Dot is a unique cafe that specialises in “bubble tea” on tap, infused with a herbal twist. One of the first things that will catch your eye is its rows of taps, each fitted with a screen showcasing the ingredients in every drink. Herbal tea options include Jujube Longan ($4.90), Snow Pear Fungus ($4.90), and even a distinctive Purple Sweet Potato ($4.90).
They also offer unconventional bubble tea flavours such as Duck Sh*t Oolong ($2.90) and Dragon Well ($2.90), with the option to add toppings for an additional $1.10. Make sure to give their gelato selection (from $4.90) a taste as well, with flavours including Dark Cacao Intense. Yogurt Speculoos, and Banana Chocolate.

2. Prata Lahhh!

If you’re bored of the usual prata offerings at mainstream mamaks, check out Prata Lahhh! for a fresh twist. Instead of sticking to fixed flavours, you can get creative and DIY your own prata with a wide range of toppings. Choose from options such as Chicken Tikka ($4), Beef Keema ($3), Potato Masala ($1.80), and top them off with condiments including Onion, Garlic (80c each), and Honey ($1).
You can also stick to staples like Chicken Briyani ($9.50) and Plain Prata ($1.40), or try their Eggs Benedict Prata ($5.20) or the Chicken Sausage Prata Roll ($4.50) for something different. Another standout is their Satti Sorru AKA claypot rice, with options ranging from Chicken ($12) to Lamb Shank ($20).

3. Groovepizzerie

One of two home-based businesses on this list, spice up your weekends with groovepizzerie’s selection of authentic Neapolitan-style pizzas. Each pizza is crafted with slow-fermented dough and baked to order, featuring a lineup of distinctive flavours.Standouts include the Chorizo Couch Potato ($22), topped with chorizo sausages and potato slices drizzled in truffle white sauce, as well as the Peanut Satay Chicken ($24) for a more familiar, local-inspired twist.
For something heartier, the Meatzilla ($22) comes loaded with minced beef, chorizo sausages, streaky bacon, and gammon ham. Alternatively, their Say Yes To Ananas ($22) offers a bold combination of arrabbiata sauce, mozzarella, streaky bacon, gammon ham, and purple onions. All of their pizzas are 12’’ and are perfect for sharing between two to three people.

4. Brunch & Co Cafe

Having generated some buzz on social media, Brunch & Co Cafe at Plantation Plaza serves up homely cafe dishes in generous portions. Some of their signature dishes include their Big Breakfast Platter ($18.90++) and their Croque Madame Sourdough ($15.90++), coated with melted cheese and packed with chicken ham and a sunny side up egg, alongside two sides.
You can also try their pesto pastas, available with grilled chicken or mushroom, as well as prawn or fried chicken bites. Another highlight is the Ribeye Steak with Truffle Jus ($23.90++), featuring 200g of New Zealand grain-fed ribeye. Best of all, you can use your CDC vouchers to help offset the cost!

5. Dan Lao

Located in Plantation Plaza’s Koufu food court, Dan Lao is a name that many people are familiar with. Founded by former chefs from the now-defunct Eggslut, the hawker brand’s speciality is clear—scrambled eggs served over jasmine rice, complemented by a variety of toppings. The star of the show is undoubtedly their cloud-like eggs, which are soft, creamy, and delightfully runny.
Besides classic topping options, including their Signature Chicken Cutlet ($7.30), Spicy Pork ($9.50), and Beef Slices ($8.30), you can also elevate your meal with a curry twist, with options such as Curry Braised Pork ($10) and Curry Spicy Chicken ($9). For an extra dose of indulgence, opt for their cheese selections, including Cheesy Luncheon ($7.30), Cheesy Prawn ($9.30), and Cheesy Tomato ($6.80).

Craving something sweet, but don’t want the usual dessert brands? Consider Tengahmisu, a home-based business that specialises in freshly made tiramisu. Their OG Tengahmisu is priced at $10, while creative spin-offs such as the Milo-Misu ($8) and Matcha-Misu ($12) are also available.
They also have a selection of Matcha drinks, including the classic Matcha Latte ($5.50) and Strawberry Iced Matcha Latte ($6.50), along with their Hojicha Iced Latte ($5.50).

7. Love Sukhothai Tengah

Singaporeans love Bangkok for its vibrant food scene, but you need not travel far for an authentic taste of Thailand right on our shores. In the heart of Tengah, Love Sukhothai delivers just that with an extensive menu of over 50 Thai dishes. A household name in the Singapore claypot dish scene, Lau Wang Claypot Delights is widely known for its traditional and affordable offerings. Their recipes are centered around their special black sauce infused with ginger and spring onions. With their rapid growth, they now boast nine outlets around Singapore.
You can start with their basic Sesame Oil Chicken (from $7.50++) or Sliced Fish with Bittergourd (from $8.30++). To turn up the heat, go for their Sambal Mala Delights range, featuring Super Mala Chicken ($9.50++), Mala Pork Mix with Pig Organs ($11++), and Sambal Seafood ($13++). Many people are familiar with Mr Coconut and its once highly raved-about coconut drinks, but fewer know that the brand also operates a café concept called Three Little Coconut. While its first outlet is located in Punggol, another can be found at Plantation Plaza. As its name suggests, the café centres around coconut-themed menu items and pastries.
Check out their signature Pandan Coconut Croissant ($5.30), filled with custardy pandan coconut cream, or try the Uji Matcha Sago ($6.80) and Coconut-Flavoured Snowy Ice ($8.20), which can be customised with their variety of sauces and toppings. The cafe also features coconut-inspired traditional desserts, including Coconut Orh Nee Tang Shui ($3), Coconut Mango Sago Pomelo ($5.40), and Coconut Durian MSW Mousse ($10.60).

10. Sizzling 喜滋滋

Rushing off for work but needing a bite? Head to Sizzling 喜滋滋 at Tengah Bus Interchange for your quick fix. Largely a takeaway kiosk with just a few tables and chairs, their no-frills menu has six different types of wraps—namely the Black Pepper Wrap, Cumin BBQ Wrap, Spicy Wrap, Mala Wrap, Classic Grilled Wrap, Honey Glazed Wrap, and Fried Fish and Tartar Wrap.
You then have two choices of protein, Chicken (from $5.30) and Beef (from $7). Pair your wraps with their Sizzling Fries (from $2.70), Sweet Corn ($3.50), along with their jasmine tea choices or coffee. Quick and tasty, Sizzling’s wraps are perfect for fuelling your day on the go.

The next time you’re stumped about where to fill your belly in the new Tengah BTO estate, come back to this list for a variety of options. With new spots constantly opening, we’ll be keeping an eye out and updating this list as the neighbourhood’s food scene grows!
For now, the nearest MRT stations to Tengah are Bukit Gombak MRT Station and Bukit Batok MRT, both located about a 15 to 20-minute bus ride away. In the future, Tengah will be served by Tengah Plantation MRT Station on the Jurong Region Line, which is slated to begin operations in 2028.
