Ichigo by Tea Cottage opens in Horizon Hills JB

If you’re a matcha lover like me, I’ve got good news for you. Popular matcha store Ichigo by Tea Cottage has recently opened its doors at Horizon Hills in Iskandar Puteri, JB.

This would be their first sit-down cafe across the border, following their success in Singapore at Suntec City and a newly opened outlet at VivoCity.

Best known for their extensive menu of 14 kinds of matcha powders, the brand rose to fame for its DIY matcha experience: think bubble tea ordering system but matcha. Upon ordering, customers can fully customise their drink, from powder to intensity and sugar level.

The JB outlet offers the usual Straight Matcha and Matcha Lattes, with the option of either Premium Grade, from RM11.90 or RM14.90 respecively, or Ceremonial Grade powders from RM16.90 or RM22.90 respectively. If all these options are too daunting, go for the Kororo Latte (from RM16.90) or Tensui Latte (from RM23.90) for a creamy combination of sweet and umami flavours.

Their Fruit Matcha Latte Series goes beyond strawberries and ventures into tropical fruits, with Soursop Matcha Latte (RM23.90) and even Durian Matcha Latte (RM22.90)—perfect for veteran matcha enjoyers looking to switch things up.

For a sweet treat to accompany your tea, their dessert menu is not one to miss, comprising gelato and waffles, as well as Swiss rolls. Classic waffles with a single scoop of gelato go for RM29.90, while the double scoop combo goes for RM39.90. Top up RM3 for matcha waffles or RM5 for chewy mochi waffles.

Their Swiss rolls are just as interesting as their matcha, with flavours ranging from Duck Sh*t Oolong (RM17) to Dalgona Coffee (RM17).

As if all that weren’t enough, their tea series is just as comprehensive, with options including Pu Erh, Oolong, Floral Teas and more. Premium teas are also available, with even catchier names such as Supermodel Detox (RM14.90).
