A total of 11 hawker centres will close for between one and three days from Monday (Aug 17) .
The National Environment Agency (NEA) said such cleaning is conducted regularly so that Singaporeans can enjoy affordable food in a clean and hygienic environment.
Cleaning at hawker centres owned by the Ministry of Sustainability and the Environment is conducted by NEA, while town councils are responsible for cleaning HDB hawker centres.
The 11 hawker centres include Chinatown Complex Market, Pasir Panjang Food Centre, Pasir Ris Hawker Centre, and Zion Riverside Food Centre.
Meanwhile, the Teck Ghee Square hawker centre at Block 409 Ang Mo Kio Avenue 10 reopened on Aug 8 following renovation.

The next round of spring cleaning in the first half of September, coinciding with the school holidays from 5th to 13th, will involve 53 hawker centres.
