Big Short Coffee is opening a second outlet at Beach Road
Big Short Coffee, the viral cafe in Joo Chiat known for its innovative drinks, is set to open another outlet! While an official opening date has yet to be announced, creator Deenise Glitz posted a sneak preview of the new location at Beach Road.

From the looks of the video, the spot appears even better and more spacious than the original outlet, although the signature earth tones and cartoon dog mascot are carried over.
For the uninitiated, Big Short Coffee opened in 2024 and quickly became one of the most popular cafes in the trendy Joo Chiat area. Their drink menu is seasonal, created with techniques and ingredients that are not commonly used in coffee.

This season’s menu, titled chapter 8 : summer 2026, is packed with creative drinks. Take the Blueberry “Umeshu”, for instance, which is created with Inzovu Rwanda cold brew and blueberries in cherry blossom sake mix—the result is a fruity pick-me-up that reminds one of umeshu, except that it’s non-alcoholic.

There’s also the Pulut Hitam Amazake, where an espresso blend is combined with pulut hitam-based amazake. This willingness to experiment with a wide range of flavours, both local and international, is what makes Big Short Coffee so exciting.
