Travellers who are heading across the Causeway, take note.

There is currently “very heavy” departure traffic at Woodlands Checkpoint, the Immigration and Checkpoints Authority (ICA) said on its social media at 8.52am, and again at 6.19pm on Friday (Oct 2).

It added that the queue has reached the Bukit Timah Expressway (Woodlands), in vicinity of Exit 10A.

Checks on the Land Transport Authority’s (LTA) traffic cameras shows heavy traffic along Woodlands Crossing and the expressway.

However, traffic along the Causeway is smooth.

ICA advised travellers to expect delays and to check traffic conditions before embarking on their journey.

Motorists are also reminded to abide by traffic laws and comply with ICA officers’ instructions at Singapore’s land checkpoints.

During the September school holidays, a total of 27 motorists were caught for various traffic offences at Woodlands Checkpoint.

Of these, 16 individuals were referred to the Traffic Police for further action.

According to ICA, offences committed at the departure lanes included crossing double white lines, making illegal right turns, stopping in positions likely to cause danger, obstruction or undue inconvenience, and queue cutting.
